Screeds over in-floor heating
Photos from several jobs of the same kind, shown together.
This page gathers screeds laid over in-floor heating on several jobs photographed between 2019 and 2026. In each one the heating contractor laid the tubes first, and the dry pack screed went over them, set out with a laser so the floor above is flat and the heat spreads evenly.
In 2024, a large open building had its tubes laid in rows on mesh across the whole floor, with walk boards so nobody stepped on them. Mounds of mortar were placed between the runs, then the screed was struck to a laser on a tripod, one band at a time.
In 2025 the same work was done in a wood-frame house under construction, and in 2026 on an outdoor terrace, where green tubes on wire mesh were covered and struck with a straightedge. The earliest photo, from 2019, shows a room in a house with heating loops on a reflective underlay and the mortar spread between screed rails. The floor finish on top was laid by the flooring or tile trade once the screed allowed it.
