Where our work stops
We lay the bed. The next trade finds it ready.
We do not install waterproofing, run flood tests, do plumbing, set tile or do structural work. Every trade on the job knows where its work starts.

Before us
Your plumber, heating contractor or pool builder
Drains set, heating tubes laid, the pool structure built. The old floor comes out, by us if you like.

- 3
After us
Your waterproofer, tile, stone or flooring trade
The membrane and the flood test, then the tile, the stone or the wood, on a bed that is ready for them.

We lay the bed
Set out with a laser, packed by hand, sloped where the water has to go.
- 4
Ready for the next trade
The fall checked with a level, the bed handed over to your waterproofer or tile setter.
Why a mortar bed
Why a mortar bed, and not a tray?
Shower floors fail at the slope: water sits in a corner, grout goes dark, the membrane is asked to hold a puddle forever. A bed packed to the drain gets the slope right in any room.

- Bond slurry
- Dry pack bed
- Membrane (next trade)
- Tile (next trade)
¼″/ft fall to the drain, drawn 6× steeper
- Dry pack mortar bed
- Any shape, any drain, deep or shallow. Solid under heavy tile and large formats. Usually walkable the next day.
- Watch: Needs a skilled hand: the fall is only as good as the person packing it.
- Foam pre-sloped tray
- Fast in a standard-size shower.
- Watch: Fixed sizes and drain spots. Rooms and drains off the stock layouts still need mortar.
- Self-leveller
- Quick for thin, dead-flat floors.
- Watch: It finds level, not slope, so it cannot make a shower floor fall to a drain.

Questions
Common questions
Is dry pack still the right way to build a shower floor?
For anything that is not a standard box, yes. A mortar bed takes any shape and any drain, carries heavy tile without flexing, and suits both traditional liners and bonded membranes such as Kerdi or Hydro Ban.
Do you do the waterproofing, the plumbing or the tile?
No. We build the bed: the dry pack, the slope, the curb and the mesh, ready for the next trade. Your waterproofer does the membrane and the flood test, your plumber the drain, your tile setter the tile.
How soon can the next trade start?
A dry pack bed can usually be walked on the next day. Membranes and finishes each have their own wait over fresh mortar, so each trade follows the product sheet for theirs.
Do you work in condos and commercial buildings?
Yes, from single condo bathrooms to commercial pool decks and change rooms. Tell us the building and the access when you ask for a quote, so elevator bookings and hours are planned before the day.
How is the price set?
Job by job, and the quote is free. Ricardo reads what you send, looks at your photos or comes to see the job, and sends you the price before any work starts. There is no price list because no two floors are the same.
